Increase cardiac output in cardiac decompresation caused by depressed contractility
Neonate, infant, child: 2-20 mcg/kg/min IV infusion. Begin at low dose and titrate to desired response.
Adult: 2.5-15 mcg/kg/min IV infusion. Rarely rates up to 40 mcg/kg/min may be needed. Titrate dose to pt response.
Pts with congenital heart disease undergoing cardiac catheterization
Child: 2 and 7.75 mg/kg/min IV over 10 min each. |
